I spend my time at Castanea finding new investment opportunities, overseeing teams, and working alongside our partner companies.
As a managing partner, I’m also involved in the strategy and management of the firm.
I joined Castanea in 2002 soon after the firm launched. Prior to Castanea, I worked in the private equity group at Bain Capital, where I was involved with larger consumer and retail brands. I came to Castanea for a couple of reasons. First, because I wanted to work with entrepreneurs at an earlier stage in their companies’ development to help them build their businesses. And second, because I believed in the value of the operating approach that Castanea’s founders were pursuing.
I’ve had the privilege of working with many fantastic brands and alongside amazing founders. My involvement with past investments includes Fuze Beverage, Hanna Andersson, and Urban Decay Cosmetics. I’m currently working with Drybar, Tatcha, MacKenzie-Childs (Aurora Brands), Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, and The Bruery.
I received an MBA from Wharton but am a Wolverine at heart: I grew up outside Detroit, studied engineering at the University of Michigan, and married a Michigan gal (and fellow Wolverine).
