About Us

Founded in 2001, Castanea Partners is a $500 million committed fund built on the belief that both industry expertise and operating experience drive long-term investing success. We provide equity capital to industry sectors where we have leadership, advisory and investing experience. Castanea is principally focused on investing in dynamic consumer brands and marketing services companies that enable such brands to connect with their customers. The firm also seeks to invest in select business-to-business providers of key information. Within these sectors, we typically invest between $20M to $75M of equity capital.

Our partners have owned, led and/or founded successful companies such as The Neiman Marcus Group, Harcourt General, and Marketspace. We believe that this, combined with our principal investing expertise and consultative approach, enables us to effectively join forces with management teams. We strive to consistently provide meaningful and measurable financial, strategic and operational support, enabling our portfolio executive teams to focus entirely on their core strengths to stimulate growth.

Leveraging Castanea’s combined operating, private equity, consulting, and investment banking experience, we invest in promising middle and lower middle market companies we believe have strong business fundamentals, barriers to entry, significant growth potential, and proven management teams. We seek traditional management buyouts, sales of private companies, industry consolidation opportunities, growth and acquisition equity, and operationally challenged situations.
