Founded in 2001, Castanea Partners is a $575 million fund built on the unique belief that both industry expertise and operating experience significantly enhance the ability to drive long-term investing success. As such, we are committed to providing equity capital exclusively to industry sectors where we have management and investing experience, including education, information services, marketing services, branded consumer products, and specialty retail. Within these sectors, we invest between $15M to $75M of equity capital in concert with management.
Our partners have owned, lead and/or founded successful well-recognized companies such as The Neiman Marcus Group, Harcourt General, Thomson Financial, AC Nielsen and Marketspace. This heritage, combined with our principal investing expertise and consultative approach, enables us to effectively join forces with management teams to realize top-level returns for our investors. We consistently provide meaningful and measurable financial, strategic and operational support, enabling our portfolio executive teams to focus purely on their core strengths to stimulate growth.
Leveraging Castanea’s 100+ years of combined operating, private equity, consulting, and investment banking experience, we invest in promising middle and lower middle market companies with strong business fundamentals, barriers to entry, significant growth potential and proven management teams. We seek traditional MBOs, sales of private companies, industry consolidations, growth equity or acquisition equity capital raises, corporate carve-outs and operationally challenged opportunities.
