Starting my career as an artist and sculptor, I entered the world of finance somewhat unexpectedly.
Although I’m not creating art at the moment, I’m still highly inspired by the creative process, be it in the arts, undertaking a DIY project at home, or enjoying the unique products our brand companies create for their customers.
As dissimilar as these creative approaches may seem, in the end it’s all about the connection with, and the experience of, the end user.
In 2004, I joined Castanea to oversee Castanea’s business development and intermediary relationships. In addition, my responsibilities include coordinating our annual investor meeting and communications.
Prior to Castanea, I was Vice President, Marketing at Flagship Ventures and prior to that Vice President of Marketing for the Technology & Life Science Division at Imperial Bank (now Comerica Bank). My background also includes teaching positions at Wellesley College and Holy Cross.
Born in the Netherlands, I came to the U.S. to obtain an M.F.A. degree at Tufts University and never left. Prior to my arrival here, I received the equivalent of a master’s degree from the Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Rotterdam, Holland. I enjoy living in Boston with my family and experiencing all the good things this area has to offer. The best part, of course, is that Holland is only a short hop across the pond.
