Castanea Partners Announces Promotion And New Hire
Newton, MA – January 14, 2008 - Castanea Partners, a middle market private equity firm that invests in small and middle market companies in publishing, information services, education, training, consumer brands, specialty retail, and marketing services, announced today the promotion of Troy Stanfield to Partner and the hire of Drew Collina as Principal of Marketing and Business Development.
Troy joined Castanea in 2002 from Bain & Company, a leading worldwide management-consulting firm. While at Bain, Troy served clients in the information services, consumer products, transportation, and manufacturing industries. Prior to his experience at Bain & Company, Troy was an investment professional at the private equity firm Berkshire Partners. His experience at Berkshire included investment evaluations across a wide spectrum of industries and closed transactions in the business services and consumer products industries. Troy received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his B.S. in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management from the University of Virginia.
Drew Collina joins Castanea Partners as a Principal with over 10 years of investment banking experience. He will be primarily responsible for coordinating Castanea’s business development and acquisition origination activities. Prior to joining Castanea, Drew was Director of New Business Development at EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) in the Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Previously, Drew worked for the Global Investment Banking Group of RBC Capital Markets following its 2001 acquisition of Tucker Anthony Sutro, where he specialized in middle market mergers & acquisitions transactions. Prior to RBC, Drew was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at BancBoston Robertson Stephens and previously, the financial advisory and auditing divisions of Coopers & Lybrand, LLP. Drew received his B.A. from Brown University and MBA from Boston University.
